Legislative Distritict 10 Community Meeting

Rep. Brent Wallis is reaching out to the people this week. He is holding another one of his well attended Community Meetings. The meeting is scheduled for this Thursday at 6:30 pm at the South Ogden City Offices. Mr. Wallis said, "The intent of the meeting is to give a brief overview of some of the issues the 2010 Legislature will deal with as well as give me opportunity to listen to the people and the concerns and issues important to them."

Due to a scheduling conflict, I will be out of town; so I expect a full report from our readers. Should be a great meeting.

Ben Joe, I agree 100%.

During Minster's South Ogden Campaign we tried to embrace Facebook and Twitter. The problem we ran into was that it was very difficult finding people on Facebook who lived in South Ogden. Ogden has it's own network however you'll find people in the Ogden Network from Ogden, S.Ogden, North Ogden, Harrisville, etc... Until these Social Mediums become more local based, I don't think they'll catch on with Local races as quickly as I'd like them to.

Two of the races I ran this past year both utilized Facebook, unfortunately, even though we advertised our Facebook presents on thousands of pieces of campaign literature, we only had a couple dozen people add us as friends.

Van Hoosers FB grew substantially due to me adding people randomly from the Ogden Network over a period of 3 months.

They do work for Large Metro Races such as Ogden or Salt Lake, as well as Statewide and National campaigns. I'd love to see them implemented in smaller campaigns in the future.

Thanks Jarrod.

I am excited for what the new campaign will look like. The problem is candidates try to start using social media only during the election. If they would start using before and after it would be more legitimate.
